Constantly faced with missing dog problems? Have no fear, WhistleGPS is here!
WhistleGPS is the first dog activity monitor. It has three unique features – If This Than That (IFTTT) channel, advanced medication reminders and GPS dog locator.
How it works: This monitor gadget (pictured above) can be attached to your dog’s collar. It comes with sensors that will collect and capture all activities your dog will carry out – such as running, playing, sleeping and swimming. These data will then be transferred to the matching phone app, that passes on to the dog’s owner, giving him/her a visualization viewpoint on its daily routine.
Whistle 3 GPS Pet Tracker & Activity Monitor is available at http://www.whistle.com for US$79.95 + subscription plan. This product requires a Wi-Fi network and a subscription plan to work.
What do you think of this invention? What does it mean for digital marketers in future?
Do you think this device could eventually turn into a social media platform for dogs’ uses(or pets in general)?

Although I don’t have any dogs, but this WhistleGPS is interesting! Such a small gadget but can so much. I think this WhistleGPS is convenient and the dog owners get to have an idea where their dog(s) are at and doing what.

The owners will also know when to fetch its medicine as well! Super cool stuff! Less worry for people too!

I feel like this is FitBit for dogs…and I love it. Number one benefit….you can’t lose your dog with this. Number two…your dog’s fitness. I remember reading something about how as human obesity rises so does a dogs. We are busy and get lazy…and our pet suffers. WhistleGPS looks like a great way to monitor that and the developers should get on to making use of this and marketing it that way.

Oh yes that’s a great idea, especially in Australia where many people love to own pets. It’s a great way to help households around the country:)

Wow, this is interesting! But a little bit confusing, is it like a video camera would capture your dog’s daily activities? If it is so, it would be nice to have one, because I really curious what does my dog do everyday when there’s nobody home!

That’s a good point to note. It’s just a sensor that will pick up your dog’s signal (may be heartbeat rate, movement, etc) that decides the dog’s results that you will receive on your phone. 🙂

I feel like it’s almost like the magic way to find out what your dog gets up to when you’re not looking. Most definitely an excellent way to find your dog straight away if they ever get lost! I like the fact that it can send out medication alerts to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Thanks a great comment on WhistleGPS. It would be as useful as the similar device made for detecting human’s health. 🙂 How do you think, however, would this device be great for digital marketers?

On a random thought. Since it tracks what the dog is doing, you know how they promote counting steps for humans ro encourage healthy living, they could take that approach for dogs as well. Many of us love our dogs.

Why yes! Your idea sounds plausible and effective! This gives me an idea, that the device could also go on to input hygiene rate (when was the last time the dog showered with the device), heart beating rate, hunger rate(last time it ate), etc. Aha! Sounds like an idea for a new market;)
